Synopsis:
Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, an American documentary film that follows the love story of the Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihlen as chronicled by Nick Broomfield. The story begins in the 1960s when Leonard was a struggling writer and Marianne was a single mom to a young son. Both meet when they join the community of expat writers, artists, and musicians at the Hydra’s Geek Island and become friends. The time with the community creates an impact on their relationship causing it to last over a lifetime. While death separates them in 2016, experience the journey of love through Nick’s vision in the movie.
