Synopsis:
The documentary film Silicon Cowboys tells the tale of three young entrepreneurs who, in the 80’s, challenged the computer market dominance IBM was having. They came up with some never before seen crazy ideas that promised to change the IT world and they did, to some extent. Together Bill Murto, Jim Harris and Rod Canien formed a company called Compaq Computer Corp and set on to revolutionize the computing in an era when computers were just beginning and considered a really hot business area. IBM had the monopoly in the market and CCC penetrated the firewall created by them. Featuring Rod Canion, Jim Harris, Bill Murto, Bill Fargo, Hugh Barnes, David Cabello and Gary Stimac, the documentary follows the lives of three men from the very beginning to their road to fame.
