The story follows Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), a young hobbit who inherits a powerful ring that must be destroyed to prevent the dark lord Sauron from conquering Middle-earth. Joined by a fellowship of companions—including Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin)—Frodo embarks on a perilous journey to the land of Mordor, where the ring can be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom. Along the way, they face dangerous foes, treacherous terrain, and the growing temptation of the ring’s power.
